The sums behind a divorce, a death, a dismissal or a visa

Court fees, compensation scales, tribunal limits and Home Office charges are all published, but spread across fee orders, PDFs and guidance. These calculators put the current figures in one place, show the working and link every number to its source.

How the figures are kept right

Every fee and limit lives in one data file with the date it applies from and a link to the fee order, legislation or official guidance it comes from. When a fee order, the April uprating or a Statement of Changes alters a figure, the file is updated and the change goes in the corrections log. The calculation code is tested against worked examples, including the official ones where they exist.
