How pages are written

Each page answers one question in plain English, puts the calculator first and explains the method underneath. Every figure is linked to its source. Pages are written for the person facing the problem, not for lawyers.

Review

Before a page is marked as reviewed, a qualified person checks the method, the figures and the wording: a solicitor for legal costs and estates, a Scottish solicitor for Scots law, a regulated immigration adviser for immigration pages, and a qualified scholar for Islamic inheritance. Reviewers are named on each page with their registration. Where a reviewer has not yet been appointed, the page says so.

Use of AI tools

AI tools are used to help draft pages and code. Every figure is checked against its source, and no page is presented as reviewed until a named human reviewer has signed it off. AI is never used to invent experience, case studies or credentials.

Independence

Advertising and any referral arrangements never affect the figures, the method or which services are mentioned. Paid links are labelled.

Corrections

If you think a figure is wrong, tell us through the contact page. Confirmed errors are fixed as quickly as possible and logged here.
